Kye Kolar

Founder, The Crisis Studio.

I've spent 17 years in business continuity and crisis management, starting at the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C., where I worked in the Business Continuity Management Unit and the Global Security Watch Office. I provided on-call emergency support through cyberattacks, kidnap-and-ransom cases, terrorist bombings, coup attempts, the Arab Spring, hurricanes and typhoons, and the Haiti earthquake — and helped build the crisis management and business continuity framework covering the Bank's headquarters and more than 200 country offices in 188 countries.

From there I spent a decade at Deloitte as a crisis management and business resilience consultant, then manager — designing business impact analyses and risk assessments, facilitating executive-level crisis simulations, and leading disaster recovery tests across financial services, consumer products, and other regulated industries.

I hold an M.Sc. in Engineering Management with a focus on Crisis, Disaster & Risk Management from George Washington University, and a degree from the University of Virginia. I currently serve on the board of the Global Resilience Professional Body. I'm based in Austin, Texas.
